Looking ahead to 2045, what will tomorrow’s wine industry look like?
The future is in our hands.
The wine industry is evolving under the impetus of a declining consumption of wine and a changing climate.
These two major changes are part and parcel of an increasingly globalised world.
A veritable revolution awaits us.
This new situation is complex but exciting. It’s exciting because the need to change things will really put the spotlight back on vines, wine and the ecosystem that goes with it.
The will is there because the solutions exist.
The forecast to grub up 100,000 hectares of vines in France is not a foregone conclusion, but an opportunity to look to the future.
How can we anticipate and adapt to the possible future of the wine industry in Occitania in 2045?
For several years, Vinea Transaction has been a member of the Vinseo cluster, a research and reflection group on the wine industry.
A great deal of work has been done to help those involved in the wine industry to think about their future.
To this end, a forecast has been drawn up to enable a projection to 2045 with an understanding of the issues and possible scenarios.
If you are interested in taking part, you can register for the day-long presentation of the results, which will take place on Tuesday 19 November 2024 from 1.30 to 4.30 pm in Montpellier.
